Paying Rent While Homeless

only adding to the stagnant urine

this is supposed to be a home

not just a house

the murky brownish yellow

and the most repugnant smell

unknown pain

sore genitalia generating fear

strangers disrespecting hallways

no wonder it holds restless souls

this should be a home

but it never can be

not with these occupants

‘Paying rent while homeless,’ kept haunting me all day, the photo too. Keep writing even if ‘trying.’ You’re trying me, I need it. Thank you.
